About Marine…
I am passionate about my work. It is important for me to connect with people in a deep and meaningful way. Trust is a big part of healing. Sometimes the relationship with a therapist is the first healthy connection one has had. Therapy is difficult and I hold myself accountable to doing the ongoing work on myself in addition to my clinical skills. I have done and continue to do my own therapy and understand first-hand what healing feels like. Who I am as human shows up in the therapy room with my patients. To be an effective healer or teacher, I believe we need to be aware of and work on our own history and blind spots.
My background…
I moved from overseas in 1994 and lived in United States since then. I was born in Armenia and also lived in different parts of Russia throughout my childhood. Because of how I grew up, I am trilingual and enjoy connecting with people from all different backgrounds. I have a multi-racial family and cultural, ethnic, historical competence matters to me.
My husband and I have five boys and one grandson. They are the center of our world, and I learn so much from them. My personal relationships are very important to me, and I practice what I teach my patients. It would be my honor to help you explore what matterns to you and help with living a life that is congruent with who you are and your values.

Additionally...
I am a former adjunct faculty member at National University in the Graduate Psychology department as well as CSUS Graduate Social Work department. Teaching is one of my passions and I enjoy it immensely. As my practice grew, I had to give up teaching due to time, but plan to return as I approach retirement. I also provide supervision and training services to unlicensed MFTI's and ASW's working on their hours for licensing. I offered this service for many years at Kaiser as the Northern Valley Training director and found a lot of fulfillment in that.
